Using wxAUI on a commercial project

Postby Yaniv on Thu Mar 16, 2006 8:46 pm

Hi,

I would like to ask about using wxAUI on a commercial project.
We are currently working on creating a PC game and wish to use wxAUI for the game editor GUI. It seems like a great choice since it currently does just about everything we need and quite more.

Does the wxAUI license approve using it on our commercial product without releasing our product's source? Do we have to attach the wxAUI source along with the CD?

Thank you very much.
Yaniv.

Yaniv,

wxAUI is licensed under the wxWidgets license as discussed at the wxWidgets site.

The actual license terms are the LGPL with a key exception for commercial (or, in fact, any) projects.

"The exception is that you may use, copy, link, modify and distribute under your own terms, binary object code versions of works based on the Library."

All the best,

Thank you very much Ken :)
I didn't notice that exception.

Great project by the way! I love how simple it is to use this framework.
