Hey all,
I switched from PC to a Mac a couple of months ago, but did not want to abandon my favorite data analysis tool. That's why I bought VMware Fusion, to have a virtual Windows XP running on my MacBook Pro. This allows me to run any Windows application inside a VM in Mac OS X. There is a feature called "unity" that gets rid of the Windows toolbar and desktop in that virtual machine, and makes the handling of the Strata window actually very native (except the XP-style window borders ). I don't notice any big differences in terms of responsiveness and speed.
I attached a screenshot of my desktop running Kirix Strata (in german, since it's a german XP installation) on an english Mac OS X installation.
So for anybody who's using Mac OS X and considering Kirix Strata - just do it in a VM, it works like a charm and you get the best of both worlds!
All the best,
Benni.
