I just wanted to revive this old topic. How is the status on this? Any chance auto notebooks will become part of the main wx branch? Who's currenlty maintaining this?

What I need has been discussed here already:
1) save page layout of a wxAuiNotebook
2) "auto notebooks" so I can detach notebook pages into their own wxPanels and move them out of the main frame

I think the patch at http://gamemosaic.com/auimod/ comes close to what I want - but I do not want to maintain a branch of the main wx trunk.
