Connection through proxy

Is there a mean with Strata to connect to the Internet through a proxy server?

Hi,

Thanks for your post. We're working creating a configuration page for proxy settings, but it didn't make our beta 1 release. You can expect to see it very soon.

Until then, you can set your proxy up manually, by entering about:config on the URL bar. After that, go to the filter text box and type in "proxy". After that, you should be able to enter some proxy settings. This is only a stop-gap solution-- the configuration page will a permanent solution.

We hope to update the beta with this in the next 1.5 - 2 weeks, so make sure you stop by and look for the latest. Part of the reason for the small delay is that we're bringing a lot of information online, including all the documentation for Strata's API, which is quite extensive.

Unfortunately, this must be repeated each time Strata gets restarted (for me at least).

Since the proxy settings are the same as I configure in Firefox, is there something that can be "copied" from Firefox to make these settings persistent?

I know how hard it is to get a product out the door on time. Features get dropped, like proxy server support (Apple did the same with Safari browser on Windows when first released).

In saying that Kirix Strata does appeal to the corporate user who would like to create reports for his or her manager, and such users, like me, sit behind horribly restrictive proxy servers
