I'm having trouble getting this to install, though it works ok on my 32bit install on another machine. First libc was wrong, so I heroically upgraded to Sid. This seemed to solve the libc 2.4 problem. However there are now problems with gail and atk. I've gone through the process Debian proposes to install these in the right places - its detailed on the debian admin site. However, still not working. A suggestion: could you modify the install script to include them and put these libraries wherever they have to go? Or give somewhat better instructions? I think that is the only barrier to running it in 32bit mode on debian 64bit Sid, as long as you have the standard 32bit compatibility feature installed. It would be nice to be able to run it on the main machine.
