Should wxAuiNotebook page indices change with page reorderin

but I wonder whether it's the intention to keep the index ordering even when the pages are reordered? I seem to remember this being mentioned as a deliberate policy but I can't find the message.

Any thoughts?

Hi Julian,

We designed it intentionally that way. Because we wanted to allow the split panes, it didn't seem sensible (or desirable) to reflect the view order in the programmatic structure.

I already added a comment to the SF bug.
