4.4 crash on startup

Can't get the new version to start without crashing.
Running Windows 7 Ultimate on my laptop. 4.3 runs without issue.
Have downloaded 4.4 a couple times, uninstalled / reinstalled but crashes every time on startup.
Luckily still have 4.3 install file so have reinstalled it and working fine so I can still use Strata.
Can't figure out why I can't get 4.4 to work?

Hi,

There appears to be an installation issue with 4.4 on Windows 7 and Vista machines. We're working through the problem and hope to have a new executable available soon.

As a workaround, please do the following (assuming Kirix Strata 4.4 has already been installed, but is not opening):

1. Open your C: drive and go to Program Files (c:\program files).

2. Find the folder called "Kirix Strata."

3. Right-click on the folder and select "Copy."

4. Go to your desktop (or any folder, as long as it isn't in "Program Files"), right-click and select "Paste"

5. After the folder has been copied, open the folder and then open the Bin folder. Inside "Bin" will be the "Kirix Strata" program w/icon. Double-click to run Strata.

6. The software should work fine if you open it from this new location. Once we get a fix and release 4.4.1, you'll be able to delete this temporary folder and install as you normally would.
